Make the World of Difference Postit

Everyone Matters

A4e Skills welcomes and is proud to have a mixed community of people working and learning with us. We value and recognise the benefits of this diversity and believe that all people have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.

However, despite considerable progress, there is still significant inequality in society and many people suffer disadvantages because of their racial origin, gender, because they have an impairment or learning difficulty, are gay, lesbian or bisexual, or because of their social class, age, language or nationality.

A4e Skills aims to not only challenge any such discrimination but to positively promote peoples rights, diversity and well-being. The following principles underpin our work:

  • Respecting individuals
  • Identifying and removing barriers that prevent people from being treated equally
  • Recognising that people are individuals with their own experiences and needs
  • Finding creative and innovative ways of improving equality, diversity and the well-being of our staff and learners
  • Working with our employers, customers and staff towards achieving equality and well-being
  • Learning from our experience, celebrating what we do well and identifying where we can improve

A4e Skills will be launching a number of new initiatives and projects in 2010 to help achieve these principles.

Make the world of difference

One such development is the ‘Make the World of Difference’ Calendar 2010.

The calendar aims to promote and raise awareness and understanding of peoples’ rights, diversity and issues of well-being. This will allow us all to ‘make the world of difference’ by helping create a work and learning environment that is inclusive, safe and respectful of everyone.
