ApprenticeshipsNI
ApprenticeshipsNI aims to provide participants with the opportunity to take part in a Level 2/Level 3 Apprenticeship where the apprentice, in paid employment from day one, will work towards achieving an industry-approved Level 2/Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework.
Apprenticeships represent an important element in the government’s Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland and the emphasis is on employment and “on –the –job” learning as the primary way of developing the skills employers need to remain competitive.
This provision will increase participation rates in apprenticeship programmes at both Level 2 and Level 3, with young people able to progress their learning and improve their skills. It is an ideal route into employment for young people who do not wish to follow the traditional academic path through college and university. Importantly the Apprenticeship opportunities are not confined to a narrow range of sectoral areas. Opportunities are available in the following areas:
- Retail Finanacial Services
- Customer Services
- Active Leisure
- Administration
- Amenity Horticulture
- Catering and Hospitality
- Childcare
- Distribution and Warehousing
- Engineering
- Play Work
- Retail
- Sport and Recreation
We will work closely with the government, other training providers and employers to ensure that we deliver quality apprenticeships that are a real gateway to sustainable employment, recognised qualifications and even Foundation Degrees and beyond.
