Speak out about Disrespect!
What do you do if you experience or see disrespectful behaviour?
Do you know how to raise a concern or make a formal complaint?
A great way to challenge disrespect is to respectfully share your feelings. Let your colleague or fellow learner know that a comment or behaviour has made you feel uncomfortable or offer a more positive way to rephrase what they have said or change the way they conduct themselves.
Information Sheets
A4e Skills have developed a series of information sheets that help you recognise and challenge language and behaviours that might cause offense to others and how you can developed interpersonal and communication skills that promote dignity and respect.

Raising concerns and making complaints
If you have a concern about the way someone behaviours or addresses you, we encourage you to speak to the person about the problem first and discuss any problems you have with the person. Should you feel you need assistance with the concern, consult the A4e Harassment and Bullying Policy and/or the policy held by your current employer. You can access a copy of the A4e Equality and Diversity Policy at www.a4eskills.co.uk, under Policies.
